Book Review: They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

Book Rating (out of 5):

Well, this is probably the first book you’ve ever read where the title completely gives away the ending. 🙂

Well, you know it’s going to happen. But how? Why?

What a strange world to live in. To get a call on the day that you’ll die. Not knowing exactly when or how, but that you will meet your maker at some point before the day is out. What would you do with your last day?

I don’t think I would want to know. It’s too much anticipation. And clearly there’s that whole conundrum of, doesn’t knowing somehow set you onto the path of your own demise??? If you didn’t know, you probably wouldn’t have made xyz decision to do whatever and then ended up in that time and place. But then again, if it’s really your time, I guess it doesn’t have to happen in any specific way. It just has to happen. You know, like Final Destination. If death misses you once, it’ll come back at you again some other way. *shrug*

It’s a bit of a mindf*ck, but if you can get past all that, you get a story of two strangers who are about to meet their untimely end. But before they do, they will meet and change each other’s lives.

I liked this a lot more than I was expecting. Maybe because I didn’t get overly emotional like I was expecting to. It definitely had it’s sad moments where you feel for the characters, but I wasn’t a sobbing mess. There were a lot of bright spots mixed in with the sad moments.

A quick read, but a good one.
